Terms governing the use of Hope Lunch services

1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the Hope Lunch mobile application and services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including families, school administrators, volunteers, and visitors.
2. Description of Service
Hope Lunch provides a platform for:
- Managing school lunch programs
- Ordering meals for students
- Processing payments for school meals
- Coordinating volunteer activities
- Communication between families and schools
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Maintain the security of your password and account
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
3.2 Account Types
- Family Accounts: For parents/guardians ordering meals for students
- Administrator Accounts: For school staff managing lunch programs
- Volunteer Accounts: For individuals participating in volunteer activities
3.3 Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you have the legal authority to enter into these Terms.
4. Meal Orders and Payments
4.1 Order Placement
- Orders must be placed by the school's designated deadline
- All orders are subject to menu availability
- Dietary restrictions and allergies must be accurately disclosed
4.2 Payment Terms
- Payment is required at the time of order
- All payments are processed through Stripe
- Prices are subject to change with notice
- Sales tax may apply where required by law
4.3 Refunds and Cancellations
- Cancellation policies are set by individual schools
- Refunds are subject to school policies and deadlines
- Contact your school administrator for refund requests
- Processing fees may be non-refundable
5. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws
- Provide accurate student and dietary information
- Respect the privacy of other users
- Not use the Service for any unlawful or prohibited purpose
- Not interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
6. Prohibited Uses
You may not:
- Share your account credentials with others
- Create multiple accounts for fraudulent purposes
- Submit false or misleading information
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Use automated systems or software to access the Service
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- Use the Service for commercial purposes without authorization
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Service Content
All content, features, and functionality of the Service, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, are owned by Hope Lunch or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
7.2 User Content
By submitting content to the Service, you grant Hope Lunch a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute such content for the purpose of providing the Service.
8. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Third-Party Services

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. By making payments through the Service, you agree to Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy.

10. Disclaimers
10.1 Service Availability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
10.2 Food Safety
While we facilitate communication of dietary restrictions and allergies, we are not responsible for:
- Food preparation or handling
- Allergen cross-contamination
- Accuracy of menu descriptions
- Compliance with dietary requirements
Users with severe allergies or dietary restrictions should communicate directly with their school's food service provider.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hope Lunch shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
- Food-related injuries or allergic reactions
- Acts or omissions of schools or food service providers
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Hope Lunch in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
12. Modifications to Service and Terms
12.1 Service Changes
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time with or without notice.
12.2 Terms Updates
We may revise these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified through:
- In-app notifications
- Email to registered users
- Prominent notice on the Service
Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or through account settings.
